Lodge Hall
Built between 1880 and 1890, Lodge Hall's land was purchased on October 5, 1880, by Samuel James Chase from Martha Jane Wright Cook, who inherited it from her mother, Catherine Wright Moore (Wicomico County Land Records Liber SPT No. 4 folio 18). Early lodge records indicate a membership as early as 1890. On September 1, 1893, Samuel James Chase and his wife, Louise Moore Chase, deeded the land to James H. Moore and his son Noah H. Moore (Wicomico County Land Records Liber JTT No. 12 folio 48).
On March 16, 1907, Michael Wright and David Bennett, trustees of the Good Samaritan Lodge of Wetipquin No. 53 Chase Blooming Rose, sold half of the hall to the Wetipquin Light Lodge of Odd Fellows No. 4472 (Wicomico Land Records Liber EAT No. 54 folio 6). On May 2, 1921, Noah Moore and his wife, Maggie E. Moore, deeded the property where the Hall stood to the trustees of Good Samaritan No. 53 and the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows No. 4472 (Wicomico Land Records Liber JCK No. 123 folio 233).
The building has served many functions in the community, including a church, a venue for community socials, a health club center for mothers and children, and a classroom for elementary school students.
